Florescent lights are more popular than incandescent lights as they are energy efficient and the light produced by these sources is shadow free and white light which is more soothing and comfortable for the eyes. You can also install dimmer switches which will allow you to control the intensity of light.
Reading areas must be well lit. Give special importance to the placements of reading lights, like reading lamps should always be placed at the height of the shoulder. It should be such that the light should be shadow free and you are able to work comfortably.
